September - Our Vacation to Mt. Rushmore Part 2

Day 3 of our vacation we woke bright and early to catch our tour bus that started and ended at Fort Hays where "Dances with Wolves" was filmed. They served us breakfast in the morning and after we got back from the tour in the Evening they served Dinner and a show! So after our breakfast at Fort Hays we went to finally go see Mount Rushmore! Wow! It was so amazing! Much better in person I must say! Our bus tour took us all over the black hills! The eye of the needle (Our bus barley slipped through the tunnel, if your claustrophobic you wouldn't have liked it!) We visited the lake where National Treasure Book of Secrets was filmed, and our last stop was the Crazy Horse memorial. The kids were absolutely beat by the end of the day! We had such a great time and saw so much! The next morning we were off on our way home, or well off to Yellowstone and we stayed a night in Jackson Hole. Man one night is not enough in that place it is so gorgeous up there! But we had such a great time on our trip! We can't wait for our next trip!

On our Tour bus, our guide told us that all the tunnels on this highway (there were 3 of them) specifically frame out Mt. Rushmore, as you see in the photo, it was pretty cool!The Eye of the Needle Tunnel, Are you sure our bus can fit in that tunnel?

As you can see we barley fit, all nice and snug! The people at the end of the tunnel didn't think we would make it!I don't remember the name of this lake, but this is where the movie National Treasure Book of Secrets was filmed. It is so beautiful! Oh how we wished we had our Kayaks!

Our last stop, Crazy Horse Memorial, this one you have to see in person to get the real effect. It was totally crazy, and huge! The whole Mountain is being carved into this Indian Warrior. It is pretty cool!

On our way home in Jackson Hole! We had an awesome time, We took over 500 pictures, unfortunately I can't put them all on our blog, but I did make a book on Shutterfly of our awesome trip! We had a blast!
