Annie Get Your Gun

Last Tuesday Kev and I were able to go to the Play "Annie Get Your Gun" at the Hale Center Theatre. It was so much fun! We love going to plays. They do such a good job at Hale Center Theatre! We have gone to the showing of "A Christmas Carol" the past 3 years. It is a really fun tradition we have! Annie Get Your Gun is based on actual people and events. When Annie Oakley was 13 or 14 she used her late fathers old kentucky rifle to hunt small game which was sold to a grocery store and resold to hotels. By the time she was 15 Annie was so successful at hunting she was able to pay the mortgage on her mothers house with the money she earned. As her shooting ability became known she was invited to participate in shooting contest against the well-known marksman, Frank Butler. He lost the contest, and his heart, to this amazing young girl and they began a coutship and were married in 1876. They began touring together doing shows, she began holding objects for Frank to shoot and then began doing some shooting of her own. In 1926, after 50 happy years of marriage, The Butlers died --- Annie on Nov. 3 of natural causes and Frank on Nov. 21, it is said that he refused to eat after her death. It is showing until May 31 so if you have an opportunity, go check it out! It is such a cute play!

That sounds like a fun night! Steve and I need to go on a date together ALONE! We haven't gone anywhere without the kids in so long! This sounds like it would be fun!
